We continue to publish Ivan Franko's correspondence. Today –first five letters of 1878.
I wanted with materials collected in the prison, write long novel on thieves life and send it in russian translation to some russian journal – may it would be accepted? (Early March 1878, to M.P.Dragomanov)

In the section «Translations» published the translation (1901) of two Buddhist parables – "Mara and Buddha" and "Rich and wise".
23 Dec 2012 New theater review
In the section "Other works" published the review of perfomance of "Dobush" by A.F. Stechynsky (1883).
Some of it scenes developed very well, language is very clear and loud, in few places a lot of healthy humor.
22 Dec 2012 New publicistic article
In the section "Publicistics" an article "Critical letters about Galician intelligentsia" (1878) is published.
Contribute though something to adequate knowledge of the soil on which the Galician intelligentsia stand, the direction in which it goes.
20 Dec 2012 New biographical article
In the section "Biographies. Obituaries" published an article "Alexander Pypin" (1881).
Pypin at every opportunity recall reading Russian community of heel of Ukrainian literature, and reminded once more hardily.
18 Dec 2012 New work on history
We continue to publish historical monograph "Life of Ivan Fedorovich and his times" by I.Franko. Today – "9. Revolt in 1846".
What preserved in our memory about the bloody stories of hajdamachchyna in 1789 or even older Peasants Wars in Western Europe, pale before those live events taking place before our eyes.

The section "History of literature" is replenished with article "The life and works of Virgil" (1882).
Translation by father Osip was quite worked out in the Polish system, so without preserving metrum, but with preserving an equal number of syllable. And publisher should be correct this dificience as it was possible.
10 Dec 2012 New critical article
The section "Literary criticism" is replenished with an article "Little word of criticism" (1876).
History sanctify name Rus'. With this name our ancestors fought and laid their heads, and the name and belief in its sanctity protect us from national and moral condemnation.

In the section "Dramatic works" published earlier drama "Three princes for one throne" (1874).
Prince, we became equal in life, I do not regret the world, don't regret crown, not regret you only regret this land, which have so many suffer from us, just regret his native people.

We continue to publish Ivan Franko's correspondence. Today –last five letters of 1877.
Not enough that we are surrounded by spies, but even now and then they send letters to the Russian Embassy in Vienna (to Novikov), where describe everybody should be like a socialist and the devil knows what. (21 Apr 1877 to Olga Roshkevych)

In the section «Translations» published the translation (1896) of the poem "King Vypaschyt in hell" from the Indian book "Markandeya Purana".

In the section "Other works" published an article "The two images in the church of Zavallja" (1883).
No sign of Byzantine stiffness and conventionality in both pictures! Boldly and clearly becomes the artist on the road, which paved by the Italian idealist art schools in the XV and XVI centuries.

In the section "Publicistics" an article "Life of a modern farmer in Ukraine and in France" (1878) is published.
How's critics appreciate way of life, the fulfillment, the idea of story, – for me it is – the story of the Ukrainian peasantry in this important epoch, written in one the open image.

In the section "Biographies. Obituaries" published an article "Emile Zola. Biography" (1881).
From Russia Zola came to us, especially since the "Friend" journal in 1876 mr. Ukrainian in his post pointed at him an attention of Galician youth and all the reading community.

We continue to publish historical monograph "Life of Ivan Fedorovich and his times" by I.Franko. Today – "8. Love and marriage".
He has reached to virile years when feeling losing advantage over the mind, and the mind, especially hardened in school of experience, begins look for any case critical.

The section «Ethnography and folklore» is replenished with article "Children words in Ukrainian language" (1881).
Served there a little collection of children words mainly from one village Naguevichi in Drogobych district. Even though it did not complete, it still is possible with it catching some basic signs of that original audio language.

The section "History of literature" is replenished with article "Reign of Darkness" (1881).
"Dream" – these great appeal of the "darkness reign" for all present and passing wrong of Ukraine, appeal, arised from Ukrainian point of view.

Submit the division of poetry and lend, at what in my power, the influence poetry on intellectual development of mankind and, vice versa, the history of poetry influence on development of mankind in individual periods.

Where is the bottom? My God, ones lie – behold true that pit only fifty yards deep. Even I have for a while quarter of mile flying!

Now I just learned that governor Dr. Potocki had to be expressed that no harm will come to P[avly]k and that it was all just empty bang against socialism, for which he was not at the time threatened. (6 Feb 1877 to M.P.Dragomanov)

It is important to see monuments of literature and social life of Galician Rus in the original early-printed books, manuscripts and documents.

Maybe for our Ukrainian orthodox Social Democrats, who believe in alone Engels and Kautsky, be here slightly occupying.

Under the influence of the coup his enthusiasm for Polish affairs with her conspiracy and rebellions much cool down, particularly degenerated in him a great reluctance to any confidential communications.
